PATNA: A girl student, Anjali Kumari, committed suicide here on Friday after she failed in her Class XII Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) examination, results of which were announced on Friday.
City SP Shivdeep Lande said Anjali, 18, a resident of Jai Mahavir Colony under Agamkuan police station and daughter of one Nand Kishore Sharma, committed suicide by jumping before a train. Her body was found lying near the railway tracks, he said.
Lande said the police also recovered a copy of Class XII CBSE examination result from the deceased's possession. He said prima facie it appeared that she was dejected as she had failed in the examination.
CBSE's class 12 results of Patna Zone were declared on Friday.
